Cat's Cradle is a compassionate, in-home alternative for outpatient feline veterinary care. We understand that cats need a quiet, familiar, fear-free environment to be happy and to thrive. Our goal is to spend quality time with our feline patients and their humans to provide their furry companions with excellent veterinary care in the comfort of their own home.
If your cat is currently under the care of another veterinarian, we will work side by side with them in order to minimize travel time and decrease stressors.
Dr. Christina Kirsch is a Montana native who graduated from Washington State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She was born in Missoula and raised in Butte, Montana. She received her undergraduate degrees from University of Montana in Microbiology and Chemistry. After veterinary medical school, she spent several years working in small animal clinics in Washington, Montana and New York. In 2004, she started her own veterinary relief business and continues to enjoy filling in around the Bozeman area when she is not busy with her feline mobile practice, Cat's Cradle.
Early on, Christina acquired a passion for cats of all sizes. During veterinary school she volunteered at a large cat refuge in Spokane, Washington. She also completed a research internship through the The Conservation and Research Center at The Smithsonian Institute. There she studied the reproductive activity of captive Pallas' cats. She is now interested in feline medicine and in particular, senior and geriatric feline medicine. Dr. Kirsch is also a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
In her spare time she enjoys playing outside with her family, both two-legged and four-legged. Her favorite activities include gardening, hiking, backpacking, SUPing, snowshoeing and traveling.
Our previous office manager passed away and we will miss him dearly. We have hired a new office manager, Detective Sargeant Ben Jones (Jones) and he has been working out well. Jones was an orphan and obtained from The Heart of the Valley so he doesn't know much about his past. Although he has no formal education or work experience, he is an avid learner due to his young age. We are happy to have him on our team. He makes all our patients feel at ease but is lacking in people skills. He is currently taking classes to improve these skills. His strong point is that he is very observant. He will alert us to any change in protocol or situation rapidly and often loudly. When Jones isn't working he enjoys cookies, swimming, running as fast as he can, collecting large pieces of wood and sleeping in the middle of couches and beds.
Tamzin is a Montana native who was raised in Bozeman. She is a welcome addition to our team and oversees all unpacking of inventory, filling of prescriptions, preparing of food and patient care. Her unique personality makes her an effective liaison between patients and humans and we appreciate her supervisory skills.
In her spare time, Tamzin enjoys eating, catching bugs, playing with her stuffed hedgehog and sleeping.
Cheddar is a Montana native who grew up on the streets of Ennis, Montana. He was adopted from The Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and was immediately hired for a part-time position. When he isn't working as a veterinary assistant at Cat's Cradle, Cheddar is a loud advocate for cerebellar hypoplasia, having been afflicted by the disease since birth. He loves to be around all animals and their humans and is a calming presence and a great morale booster.
When he isn't working, Cheddar spends his free time wandering around the backyard, falling off things, knocking things over and sleeping.
Phryne is a Montana native who was raised at the clinic. She joined Cat’s Cradle last year and has been helping the other employees complete their work tasks. She has leaned important skills such as making sure the inventory is spread out so we can all see it. She is also showing excellent leadership goals by keeping our other employees awake. In her spare time, Phryne enjoys hiding, ambushing people and animals, gardening, and playing with her favorite toy, her Allen wrench.
Justine recently joined our team at Cat’s Cradle and is interning part time to determine if work is what she wants to actually do in the future. Justine is a floater and works behind the scenes. When Justine isn’t working she enjoys sleeping, “borrowing” other employees toys, and watching birds out the window in the comfort of her office.
Zip is a Montana native who was raised in Dillon. Although he has no formal education or work experience, he has acquired great wisdom in his 16 years of life and we are happy to have him on our team. He has always been a lover of people and animals and shows great organizational skills, as seen by his ability to herd cats and hoard tennis balls.
When he isn't working, he enjoys eating, collecting tennis balls of all colors, taking long car rides and sleeping.
